Sumner County Flea Control
Targeted Flea Control for Homes & Commercial Properties in Westmoreland & Nearby Areas
At Proven Pest Solutions, we provide professional flea control for residential and commercial properties. We use integrated pest management (IPM) to address active fleas and prevent future infestations, all while keeping people and pets safe.
Fleas aren’t always confined to pets. Their eggs and larvae can remain in pet bedding, carpets, upholstery, flooring gaps, and other areas where animals or people spend time. If you're concerned about an infestation, a professional evaluation from our licensed and insured team can determine the extent of the problem and the appropriate next step.
Call (615) 615-7378 for free professional advice and an estimate for our flea control services in Sumner County. Same- and next-day appointments are available.
How We Address Flea Infestations
We utilize IPM techniques to take on flea infestations of all kinds. Our approaches generally combine evaluation, environmentally responsible treatments, and preventive steps, all designed with families, pets, employees, and customers in mind. We don't rely on broad chemical applications.
No matter the situation, we'll recommend approaches that reflect the activity and conditions around your property. Plus, we'll leverage our extensive experience taking on flea infestations in Sumner County and across Middle Tennessee.
Your flea control service needs to target indoor spaces, outdoor areas, animal resting locations, and other places that may harbor these insects. Cleaning and appropriate pet care can complement our professional services, but they don’t replace treatment of an infested environment.
Follow-Up & Prevention
We provide follow-up services and comprehensive warranties to support our work. For ongoing pest pressure, we choose one of our monthly, quarterly, or yearly preventive pest control programs. No contracts required.
Licensed, Insured, & Personally Accountable
When you hire Proven Pest Solutions, you'll be partnering with a company that holds General Pest and Rodent Control and Wood Destroying Organisms licensing from the Department of Agriculture.
We’re also fully insured, and our services are backed by extensive warranties. If pests return during your warranty period, we'll provide additional treatments at no cost.
Our reliability goes beyond licensing, insurance, and warranties.

The Flea Lifecycle & Why Tennessee Is a Hotspot for These Pests
Fleas go through four life stages:
- Egg: These are laid on a “host,” which is often a pet. They’re not sticky, so they can fall onto carpets, bedding, and elsewhere. Female fleas can lay between 20 and 50 eggs per day. These can hatch in as little as one day, depending on temperature and humidity.
- Larva: Tiny, blind, and worm-like, these will avoid light and burrow into carpet fibers, soil, or flooring cracks. They feed on organic debris, such as flea “dirt” (blood excreted by adult fleas) and dandruff/skin flakes, which is essential for their development. This stage can last anywhere from five to twenty days.
- Pupa: The larva spins a sticky, silk-like cocoon that quickly gets coated in dirt and debris, camouflaging it. Fleas can stay dormant in this cocoon for days, weeks, or even months, waiting for a trigger like vibration, heat, or carbon dioxide (signs a host is near) before emerging. This is why infestations can suddenly "reappear" after a home has been empty.
- Adult: Once emerged, adult fleas need to feed on blood within days to survive and reproduce. They can jump onto a host almost immediately and begin biting within minutes.
Tennessee's warm, humid climate gives fleas ideal breeding conditions for most of the year, and its mild winters rarely get cold enough to kill them off outdoors. This lets flea populations persist nearly continuously. Add in abundant wildlife carriers (deer, raccoons, opossums) that can reinfest yards, and it’s little wonder why fleas are a persistent problem in the state.
